Ardnamurchan & surrounding areas

Moidart, Morvern, Ardgour, Sunart

We are still discovering this very special area, and will update this page with our reviews and yours when you share them with us, this is what we can tell you about the area so far...

You have probably rented the best wildlife hide in the area (we are biased!). Sitting in the conservatory at Tigh Bhann for the whole week is a fantastic way to spend your holiday. We have already mentioned many of the wildlife sightings seen from the house. Pine marten are attracted to food after dark, we have left you peanuts; just a handful and patience should reward you with a visit.

With the advantage of being able to launch small craft from the bottom of the garden you can bring your own boat. Choose to sail, kayak, canoe, motor sail or row.

Catch your supper from the shore too, mackerel even lobster!

However getting out and about exploring the peninsular is equally rewarding. With short or more adventurous walks, bays, beaches and open moorland to enjoy and discover.

Sunart Woodland Trails

Covers Ardnamurchan, Salen through to Moidart, Morvern and Sunart, including walking and cycling trails.

Locally on the peninsular is:
Sonachan Woodland
Glenborrodale
Dun Ghallain
Worth a visit is Garbh Eilean Hide at Ard Airigh as the pictures below are taken from this hide

A falling tide is best for twisting and diving otters, especially at either end of the day. Seals can be seen resting on rock at low water.

Tigh Bhaan is the perfect shore-side accommodation base for Scottish wildlife and landscape photography, with fantastic local walks and an en-suite hide with regular sitings of Pine Martens, Badgers, Stag, and Otters, you could well encounter the UK's Big 5 close up (red deer, otter, red squirrel, golden eagle and common seal). Check out Emma's photography for some examples of wildlife we see regularly...
